Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer

Description

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Who doesn’t like summertime fruit. Grapes, watermelon, apples, plums, pairs, the list goes on and on. Well one guilty pleasure that I don’t indulge in too much is Pineapple. It’s not that I don’t like them, they are sweet as summer days are warm. The problem I have is getting the delicious fruit out from the hard pineapple skin.

While flipping through the shopping channels on tv, I found the Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer. But before I could break out the credit card, the infomercial ended. There I sat, lost, not knowing where to turn. I searched the internet and in short fashion found my Pineapple Easy Slicer at http://www.amazon.com/. Now I know that I have an Amazon coupon at the top of my blog but this is where I got mine from (and I suggest you also use my amazon coupon for savings).

What It Costs $13.97

Ease of use 3 Stars

Slicing a Pineapple is not easy, I need to break out the cutting board, large knife, and bowels to put the fruit into. With the Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer, I still need the large knife, and bowels and cutting board. First I slice the top off of the pineapple. The turn the Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer into the pineapple. It cuts as it digs into the fruit. As expected the commercial makes it look much easier.

Actual performance 4 Stars

Okay I like toys. I wouldn't have this blog if I didn't and this falls into the kitchen toy category. First you need to select the correct size slicer. Then twist the Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer into the pineapple. That takes some effort. Then when the Vacu Vin Pineapple Easy Slicer bottoms out you can pull the slicer out. The fruit comes right out with it. Now it’s best to do this in the sink as pineapples are very juicy and this will make a mess. Now in the infomercial they also commented on the juice mess so I give praise for pointing out this during the commercial.

Final thoughts on practicality

The pineapple comes out like a curly fry. You can then cut down one side with a knife to get delicious pineapple rings. Its messy, but fun. If you like pineapple and kitchen gadgets, then you will like this product.

Final Score

4 out of 5 stars
